Orca Scan started life as a simple barcode scanner app to help a teenager with his summer job and evolved into a no-code barcode system used by 20,000 organisations worldwide. We’re a small, agile team working with over 150k users to iterate the product and need a great designer to help visually communicate what we’re building.

What you’ll be doing

• Create short animations to explain how things work
• Create video content for social media and advertising
• Create compelling visuals to accompany product releases
• Produce succinct, engaging video training guides

What you should have

• A portfolio showcasing relevant work
• 3+ years experience with Adobe tools
• Great attention to detail with an open mind for creativity
• Strong knowledge of design fundamentals typography, composition and colour
• Ability to provide multiple creative solutions to problems
• Solid vector illustration skills
• A willingness to work incredibly hard to keep things incredibly simple

Bonus Points

• An excellent understanding of the power of keynote
• Experience working in a start-up or scale-up SaaS business
• Experience hiring and working with freelancers

Barcodes are all around us, used to track everything from the toothbrush you used this morning to medical implants used to save lives, yet, after 45 years, implementing a system to track barcodes is still overly complex. That’s the problem we’re solving for Apple, Lime, GE and many others.
