Adding attachments to your Orca Scan sheets is a powerful way to manage documents like invoices, product manuals, or presentations. With Attachment Fields, you can easily upload and manage different types of documents directly within your Orca Scan sheets.
How to Add an Attachment Field
You can add a Attachment Field in Orca Scan using either the mobile app or the web app. Follow the steps below for your preferred method:
How to Add a Attachment Field via the Mobile App
- Scan a barcode or tap to edit an item in the list
- Tap the cog icon next to any of the fields
- Enter a name for your new field
- Set the data type to Attachment
- Tap Save to add the field
After adding the field, refresh the mobile app. You can now scan a barcode (or tap an item) to add an attachment.
How to Add an Attachment Field via the Web App
- Right-click on a column and select Add Column
- Enter a name for your new column
- Set the data type to Attachment
- Click Add to create the column
Your Attachment Field is now ready for use.
How to Use Attachments
After adding an Attachment Field, you can easily attach your files from both the mobile app and web app:

- Tap the Attachment Field to add a file
- Choose a file from your document library or cloud storage
- Save and close the field

- Click on the Attachment Field in the desired row
- Select Tap to upload an attachment

- Press Upload
- Save and exit

How to View Attachments
Attachments uploaded to an Attachment Field can be viewed from both the mobile app and the web app:

- Open the item containing the Attachment Field
- Tap on the field to open or download the attachment
Viewing Attachments on Web
- Locate the Attachment Field in the desired row
- Click the magnifying glass icon next to the field to open
Exporting Attachments
When you export a sheet containing attachments, the files will be shown as URLs in the exported file. Simply click the URL to view or download the attachment.
