How do I extract FMD values from the barcode?
You can use the following steps to extract values from FMD barcodes using Orca Scan:
- Login to your Orca Scan account
- Create a new sheet
- Create a column for the value you wish to extract
- Set the default value to one of the Orca Variables above
- Save your changes
That's it, now every time you scan or import FMD barcodes, your values will be extracted and moved to the correct columns.
What information does an FMD barcode contain?
A FMD barcode uses GS1 Application Identifiers (AIs) to explain the encoded information and what it represents. These identifiers directly precede the corresponding value that they define. For example, if the identifier for an expiry date is 17 and the following values are 160725, then you know that this drug has an expiry date of June 16, 2025.
